A huge thank you to EUROCONTROL for hosting such an insightful and energizing two-day summit in Brussels. The event brought together an impressive community of aviation leaders, innovators, policymakers, and sustainability experts — and it was truly inspiring to be part of the conversation on building smarter, cleaner, and more resilient skies. 🙏🏽

Our R&D Team — Alejandra Martín Frías, Larissa Houston LLM. Dr. iur., and Thomas Adler — appreciated the opportunity to reconnect with familiar faces across the aviation ecosystem and meet new partners equally committed to advancing sustainable aviation. 🫱🏽‍🫲🏻

Over the two days, we gained valuable insights into EUROCONTROL’s evolving suite of sustainability and research tools, including IMPACT, AEM, LTO-EE, R-NEST, and FlyingGreen — and by the contributions from partners such as EASA - European Union Aviation Safety Agency, CANSO, SESAR Joint Undertaking, and the SESAR Deployment Manager. Seeing the level of collaboration and coordinated action across the sector was a highlight of the summit.

We were especially inspired by the presentations on ✳️ContrailNet, and the latest developments stemming from MUAC’s contrail research. These discussions directly support several of our current research priorities, particularly in contrail mitigation, climate-optimized operations, and the broader integration of sustainability considerations into flight planning services.

A special thank you to the organizers, moderators, and speakers — including Marylin Bastin, and all panel contributors — for curating an exceptional programme and creating space for meaningful cross-industry dialogue.

We’re heading home with new insights, strengthened connections, and plenty of inspiration as we continue developing solutions for more sustainable skies.

✈️🌍 It was also a pleasure to reconnect with colleagues from the contrails research and mitigation community - Google, Contrails.org, and TUI. These exchanges continue to strengthen collaboration across the ecosystem and fuel our own work on contrail mitigation and climate-optimized flight planning: Tomas Panek, M. Kemal A., Tom Dean, Eóghain Mitchison, Marc Stettler, Devaiah Nalianda 🫱🏽‍🫲🏻🙏🏽

If we didn’t get the chance to connect during the event, we’d still love to keep the conversation going. 🤝
