A huge thank you to EUROCONTROL for hosting such an insightful and energizing two-day summit in Brussels. The event brought together an impressive community of aviation leaders, innovators, policymakers, and sustainability experts â and it was truly inspiring to be part of the conversation on building smarter, cleaner, and more resilient skies. đđ˝
Our R&D Team â Alejandra MartĂn FrĂas, Larissa Houston LLM. Dr. iur., and Thomas Adler â appreciated the opportunity to reconnect with familiar faces across the aviation ecosystem and meet new partners equally committed to advancing sustainable aviation. đŤąđ˝âđŤ˛đť
Over the two days, we gained valuable insights into EUROCONTROLâs evolving suite of sustainability and research tools, including IMPACT, AEM, LTO-EE, R-NEST, and FlyingGreen â and by the contributions from partners such as EASA - European Union Aviation Safety Agency, CANSO, SESAR Joint Undertaking, and the SESAR Deployment Manager. Seeing the level of collaboration and coordinated action across the sector was a highlight of the summit.
We were especially inspired by the presentations on âłď¸ContrailNet, and the latest developments stemming from MUACâs contrail research. These discussions directly support several of our current research priorities, particularly in contrail mitigation, climate-optimized operations, and the broader integration of sustainability considerations into flight planning services.
A special thank you to the organizers, moderators, and speakers â including Marylin Bastin, and all panel contributors â for curating an exceptional programme and creating space for meaningful cross-industry dialogue.
Weâre heading home with new insights, strengthened connections, and plenty of inspiration as we continue developing solutions for more sustainable skies.
âď¸đ It was also a pleasure to reconnect with colleagues from the contrails research and mitigation community - Google, Contrails.org, and TUI. These exchanges continue to strengthen collaboration across the ecosystem and fuel our own work on contrail mitigation and climate-optimized flight planning: Tomas Panek, M. Kemal A., Tom Dean, EĂłghain Mitchison, Marc Stettler, Devaiah Nalianda đŤąđ˝âđŤ˛đťđđ˝
If we didnât get the chance to connect during the event, weâd still love to keep the conversation going. đ¤
